Sending money through PayPal for free?

    Hello entrepreneurs!

    I have won an auction on Adverts but the buyer is insisting I send the money as money owed or gifts so they do not incur a fee, but when I try to do this it wants to charge me ~€2.67. I also do not want to buy from someone else.

    PayPal's android app mentions something about there not being a fee for domestic transactions to friends and family once I use my bank account or PayPal balance. I have become friendly with the seller through all our correspondence.

    My card is linked to my VISA debit. There's no option to topup the balance in the app
    which is the only access I have right now.

    Can I top up my balance and send the money all without incurring an extra charge?

    As far as I know , you won't have Paypal protection if you send the payment as money owed . ( if you need to claim afterwards )

    You should ask the seller to send you a paypal invoice , and you can pay that way .

    Don't be fooled by his friendliness through correspondence .........He is a salesman

    You have to add funds from your bank account to your paypal account. This can take 5-7 days. Then send funds. Either one of you is going to have to pay the massive fee for their service or you can wait a week.

    The fee is because the money is coming direct from your card (you are liable for the fee), now if you had some money in your paypal account there would be no fee even if it was to take some of the payment from the card.
