71/2 ton Avia tipper was giving a slight short noise after starting up to this, but this morning after not driving it for a while it struggled to start then it kept turning over after switching it of and making all sorts of noises that was only stopped by switching on the deadman at the battery.
Had a look at the starter and then switched on the deadman again and it was if someone was in the cab trying to start it.

Oh,and after tilting up the cab I then went to put it back down and the knob that I turn before jacking snapped of,never rains until it f*cking pours eh!!!
    Any ideas?

Starter solenoid stuck on most likely, clout it with a hammer and see if it disengages but you're probably going to have to replace the starter. Could also be a faulty ignition switch, does pulling the trigger wire off the solenoid stop it?

    Yep, life's never easy!

Got the starter done,he says it was the solenoid, bolts sheared opening and all that, had to tap them again,€115.

Going to put it back in tomorrow. My next problem is my cab,its jacked up to about half way as it was parked up against a shed. Its the hydraulic one with two hoses going in under the bottom of it.Was wondering could I disconnect the hoses and get it back down manually until i get my nearly new jack pump?

No that won't work. There is a check valve in the ram to stop it falling on ya if a pipe bursts.

Borrow another cab tilt pump to get the can down.

On those Avia I found a few with brake line/hose issues. Have a good look at them, one burst a hose on me when I was testing it during a DoE
