Hot press tank location

I have a two storey house with detached garage. The boiler is located in the garage. I would like to put the 300l tank in the attic but the builder says that it could cause problems with the heating system. He would like to put it on the ground floor level in utility room which would be closer to boiler. I can understand his logic but these tanks aren't small and it takes a huge chunk out of the utility... The only reason i would like it in the attic is to save space. Is it a no no putting it in the attic, could I regret it later down the road.?

You know when you have to let a tap run a few minutes before you get hot water. This is known as a "dead leg" when you have to draw off the cold water in the pipe between the tap and the hot water cylinder.

What you are considering doing is creating a huge dead leg between the cylinder and the boiler making the system very unresponsive and inefficient. Keep the pipe runs between the boiler and the cylinder as short as possible and insulated these pipes well.

If you can bring the boiler inside too then any heat it produces will add to the heat of the house - your car does not need to be kept warm in the garage !!
