Re posting as i didnt get an answer in london thread and need advice quickly as i need to check in so feel free to delete london post mods! hope this is ok!

So basically i need advice regarding luggage! I'm heading to london on Thursday with my mother for 3 nights 4days but I am unsure whether to bring to mini suitcases as carry on luggage or book in a suitcase? It's 40 return for the suitcase which is quiet a bit but we do plan in shopping so I'm not sure what to do? Any advice from anyone who has been through this before? Thanks in advance

What airline are you flying on? That makes a difference. Aer Lingus let you bring one carry on bag and one personal item. Ryanair are very strict about only letting you bring one carry on bag.

Bring a light fold up holdall for the shopping and book it in for the flight home?

Agree with hoobo. It will be hard to get 4 days worth of clothes/shoes/personal items and your shopping fit into your carry on bags, unless your shopping will only be small items such as jewelry. Put a fold up bag into your carry on bags, put your shopping into it and check it in. Ryanair make you chose either the 15kg weight or the 20 kg weight when you check in online. If you pick the lighter weight, make sure that your bag is really that light, as you'll be charge an excess weight fee when you get to the airport if it is over it.
