I heard of this before but I think I gladly put it to the back of my mind. Basically a Virus known as ratters that gets access to your camera and can spy on you, post footage on social media and the like. How common is this sh1t?

Yeah, because putting a bit of tape over my camera is the rationale thing to do :eek: if I done that my OH would lock me up for been nuts! now she could lock me up for having the odd sly fap LOL

The odds of you being infected are pretty low, but it is surprisingly common. You can find the tools and other people to assist you in your endeavour with about 1 google search.

They've been around for ages. It's not a virus per se, doesn't actually do damage to your computer, but the ratter probably will :P

Unless you've downloaded and run a dodgy file from someone you probably don't have a rat on your computer. I wouldn't really call it a virus either.

I did this ages ago but I sometimes bring my laptop to class and students always look a bit puzzled and think teacher is a little creepy.



















The nude 'selfie' I have as my screensaver seems to go largely ignored, though.

Just do what I do if I leave the laptop on. I just leave it in front of the mirror, so if they do hack into it, they will only see themselves looking at themselves.
