Are valuables safe in hospital wards during overnight?

    Hi

I have surgery tomorow at St. Vincents and they might keep me over night. Because of this I would very much like to bring my laptop with me but people have advised me against it as it may get stolen.

Is there anywhere I could lock up my laptop and phone during surgery and/or at night?

There are patient lockers in Vincent's, but I know of laptops that have been stolen from there (though not from lockers). I'd recommend not bringing it just to be safe.
