Value on old books

    I have a number of old books from early 19th century of various subjects and condition(mostly tattered because if storage ). I wouldn't imagine that the subjects would hold a high but I'm wondering is there much value in books just because they are very old?some of them have notes written on the inside with names and dates which is great to see. We have them displayed on our shelf and they look great, but is this the only value they carry?
