    Hi there,

I'm flying to Phuket next week for a couple of weeks. Has anyone been there? Care to recommend some places to see and things to do?

patong beach is the spot to stay, should be 34 degrees around now.
you can rent a car for around 20 euro a day.its very easy to drive around there.

34 degrees is grand, a lot cooler than Oz then. Not sure about the car though if you want to have a few scoops. Is it ok to drink and drive over there?

Nai Yang Beach is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. It's kind of a relaxed vibe around the area with a strip of restaurants and about seven or eight pubs. Patong would be a lot more livelier and seedier I suppose with strip clubs galore and 'Me love you long time' merchants selling their wears. So basically go to Patong for the nightlife and Nai Yang beach for the relaxation.
