I'm half thinking of going looking at this.

is the mileage far too low for the year?

looks spotless I have to say

    Has to be an import...

So you'd have to get everything checked. I'd be wary of an import with that low mileage.

do you think its an import cos of the spec or the reg is high?

I'd love a mondeo estate with this spec but the mileage is worrying me

Both tbh. You'd never see an Irish car with that spec and coupled with the high reg, I'd eat my hat if it wasn't an import.

Is that not mad money for one all the same?

Looks lovely, the interior doesn't look like it has anymore miles than advertised.
Never seen a Mondeo with that spec before.

Easier to check an import from UK :)

According to motorcheck it is a UK import, advert mentions maintenance but no mention of service history. No service history then I'd walk, if there is a service history then I'd be scrutinising it and ringing the garages that serviced it. The low mileage is plausable but it needs evidence to back it up.

Actually, the towels over the front seats are probably hiding the wear.

I did think that, but usually you'll see most wear on the bolsters and on the right hand side of the drivers seat, but I can't see anything in those pics.

It could always be genuine, but I'd want a lot of information to back it up.

But, what do yee think of the price? Surely it's overpriced?

I'm very, very weary of that mileage. The whole object of a diesel is for long distance driving......

with a good spec and an auto they seem to be near enough that price

Yeah you're right on the wear pattern, I'd love to have a proper snoop to figure it out now!

Asking is probably to haggle, what's a so liar car going for, €3-€3.5k?

Are the Ford diesels as weak with low miles as some of their German/Jap counter parts.
Presuming if it was 2.2 it'd be the troublesome Mazda lump?

    What's with the towels?
Also it states only used at weekend and its got a tow hitch, could be used to pulling a boat or horse box. The suspension etc should be checked

the 2 year nct on it, would suggest suspension is good to me?

The Mondeo never shared any diesel engines from Mazda, thats a Ford lump. No DPF on that engine either, short runs may do the DMF no favours though.

I'll leave the common problems to someone with more info on Mondeos as I don't have one. I do know that the EGR can jam open/shut and cause plumes of smoke from the back

At least there isn't a DMF to worry about with that one :)

You can check mileage history easily, service history is a pain to check, if the car is genuine it'll be gone in a day or two imo. Weekend use speel and recent nct would suggest it was brought in to sell.

If I was you I wouldn't bother with it, by the time you've the legwork done twill be gone.

Milage seems crazy for a 2004, my car when i bought it only had 37000 or something but even its a 2007 and not exactly a long haul car.

Seems too good to be true, go a backround check on it via its irish and uk reg's and see what it throws up before doing anything
