so the irish govt dont know of this pesion so i reckon or do they? is there a way that the uk pensions govt can cross check irish pensions and visa versa? she is getting worried, thanks in advance

I am pretty sure that there are no cross border checks of pensions or any other financial matters unless there is already some form of money laundering investigation, which takes place in all crimes over a certain value.

Presumably, it is paid in sterling to a UK account? and presumably you convert it to euros?

On all UK savings you receive an end of year tax cert showing that you have paid the tax on any interest you earn. Not sure about over here.

I wouldn't worry too much about it....

The UK pension should have been declared from day one.

OK but it hasnt been declared. Frankly I am not going to push my Mam into doing anything she doesnt want to do as she is old, feeble and in a wheelchair. Her few quid in this pension is all she has left - she has no vast estate/farm/house in her name. this pension is small and enables her to get her haor done once a week - a small token at 74yrs old. many thanks for all your advice and help one and all.
