I was going to post this under Train Porn but thought better of it as we could do with a thread specifically dedicated to railwayana, I'll kick it off with this unusual survivor from the Waterford & Tramore Railway which recently sold on eBay. Railway buttons are a popular item with collectors but have never floated my boat - probably just as well given the price!

I think that may be a case where collecting interests collide that it went mad, there's is a big button-collecting movement out there. Same happens with travel posters/postage stamps/metal tokens.
Still, the W&T was a very small company so price only to be expected, GSWR/GSR or GNRI buttons would only go for maybe a couple of euro each.

Above another rare button which made £64 on eBay last night, this time from the grandly named narrow gauge West Carbery Tramway & Light Railway - better known as the Schull & Skibbereen.

And (below) an interesting timetable from the Clogher Valley Railway. Apologies for the poor quality of image - the fault of the sellers on eBay.

Dunno what it is supposed to be, but lettering doesn't look 'right'. All the holes on it are a bit odd as well.

The Glasgow & South Western Rly aka the 'Sou' West', did exist tho, pre-Grouping.
