Sore patch on paw

Quick question as I can't get to a vet till Tuesday - my dog has had a sore patch in between his toes on one paw, probably for a while before I noticed it. He's been licking at it of course, and just now I saw that he has a small red patch on his lips and chin. So I'm assuming it's something contagious, and so I'm wondering if I should keep him away from other dogs, and even my cats, until we get to a vet. I'm thinking mange of course.... anyone have experience of this?

edit - hopefully not mange, as he isn't scratching.
