Canon repair

    Hey all, was wondering would anyone be able to help me out?

    I have a Canon G9 and the lens track is gone on it so the lens won't retract. Was on the phone to one of the Dublin based shops the other day and they told me that it would have to be sent back to Canon which involves an extortionate fee which I cant afford. Anyone know of anywhere or anyone in Dublin that does jobs like these??

    to be fair ... you are talking about a G9 - a camera which is out maybe 4/5/6 years.

    it might be cheaper to find one secondhand rather than get it repaired (the parts alone could be more expensive than a repair.

    Have a chat with zerohamster a regular on here and does very good repair work. Helped me out on numerous occasions when a shop wanted a crazy fee.
