Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

FAN for cpu 6 x 4cm ,?

    I,M looking for a fan ,athlon cpu,the Cpu heatsink is 6cm x 4cm.
    PC IS hp cq1110uk,small form factor PC.
    the psu is external ,like a laptop power supply,65 watts.
    I put on an old fan,from a pentium 4 pc, the original fan is broke.
    The smallest fan i can see is 6x6cm,
    should i just buy a 6x6cm fan from peats or maplins.
    is There some specialist supplier than sells smaller fans.
    The present fan is working fine, i used 4 screws to secure it to heatsink.
    This pc runs cool, just has one fan on the cpu.
    i,d be willing to buy a fan for 20 euro,if theres one out there that fits better.

    I know a 6x 6 will work fine,if i install it properly,
    i think the solder melted on the original fan, and the cable just fell off ,
    on the fan side,Theres 2 small solder joints.
    it uses standard 3 pin connector to mobo power .
    I had to remove bios battery to reset bios,
    to get the pc to load windows 7.
    eg bios,or windows was not loading as normal.

    I would say it is a standard 40x40x10 fan. Throw a tape measure on the existing fan to make sure. Available anywhere.

    That's one of the more expensive options, there are plenty for around €5.

    ok, I,ll get a 4x4 cm fan ,from maplins.
