If you on Jobseekers Allowance then when you turn 25 and the only means assessed against you is parental then yes you will receive €188 pw. I am presuming that you are on Jobseekers Allowance not Jobseekers Benefit.

I have a similar question. I'll turn 25 at the end of April and I'm Supplementary Welfare Allowance. Will my payments be automatically increased to 188/wk or do I need to inform the CWO that I now qualify for a higher rate?

It should happen automatically. If not call in to you sw office and it should be amended.

It will increase to €186 swa pays out €2 less than jsa. If it doesnt increase automatically then call to your cwo.(This is assuming that any means assessd against you are parental).

Thank you, I don't live with my parents, have a partner (married, co-habiting etc.), have any children in my care or own property so I have no other income about from SWA that would need to be assessed.

Does this mean if you are 25 and living at home you only need to give your parents details? Or would i need to give my younger brothers details?

I think this question has been answered for you in another thread but to recap: Yes, you need to give all the details requested on the form,
No, your brother's earnings will not be means tested against you nor your earnings means tested against him,
and Yes, any information you supply to the Dept of Social Protection should be accurate.

Thanks was just making sure i cleared it with my brother anyway. I presumed he was getting more hours permenantly but it's not the case so everything is fine. Was just worried about my brother getting cut over me. Thanks again.
