Stain removal advice?

So a family member got into the passenger seat of my car recently and had what I can only describe as jam or something to that effect on the back of his jacket. It got stuck to the back of the seat in blotches and the seat is quite visibly stained. I've tried dabbing water on it but it needs something else.

The car is only a year old and is immaculate otherwise so I'm raging

    Any advice?

Vanish, presuming it is fabric. Stain Devil maybe. Just try it on the underside incase it leaves a mark.

    Baking soda might help

Are we to assume it's cloth upholstery and not leather?

If so, there are a couple of things you could try - the best of which would be to use an extraction machine on it.
You can use the Rug Doctor machines that B&Q hire out for about €30.

You need something to agitate it to get it out. Maybe a valeting company might do the area for you? Should be cheap if it doesn't require the whole seat to be done.

    Or even rent one.

Yeah they are cloth seats, there's also a mark on the door panel (fabric again).

I'd like to try get it out myself first if there's anything anyone could specifically recommend? I'll see if I have any vanish... (just dont want to bleach the seat in the process!)

Autoglym interior shampoo might be worth a try. Eight bucks or so in Halfords, available elsewhere too no doubt.

I got stuff in the local Tesco (a bottle of Wizz upholstery cleaner) and used it on carpets, headlining and seats. Works well.

Alternatively, I've taken out seats and pressurewashed them before too

The only proper way to remove the stains is with a deep upholestery cleaner imo.
