Going to look at a 2002 Nissan Primera next week. It's the 2.2 diesel model. I'm 22 years driving, had God knows how many cars in that time, but never had a diesel. Anything in particular I need to watch out for with this particular car? People's opinions on it? Good/bad/avoid etc?

Any help appreciated. Thank you. :)

I wouldn't bother, tax is high, engine not highly regarded, unless its dirt cheap and has been minded

I don't mind the tax so much, had my heart set on a 2.7tdi Terrano that fell through. I'm getting it for a very good price, has low mileage, owned by an older man who looked after it well.

You need to figure out what you need from a car/jeep.
What will you use it for, how much mileage etc

I have 3 children with me and two I see every fortnight. I work part time 2/3 days a week which involves a lot of driving. I also collect/deliver motorbikes on a trailer as a sideline. That tends to take me anywhere in the country. I do about 20k to 30k miles a year (if not more)

My grandad had a 2004 primera 2.2 dci a few years ago. I think it was doing 40mpg. He never had any hassle with his. But at the same time that model primera doesn't exactly have a great reputation you would want to be getting a good deal on it as previously said.

A terra no would break you doing 30k per year. Would you like 7 seats?
    What's your budget?
