So the girlfriend wants to get a tab and tbh we're both clueless about them. Basically are we better off getting an I pad or is there an android alternative that is better for the money?

    Moved from Comp & Tech.

Do either of you own an Apple or Android device? What do you want to use the tablet for, what is the budget?

What does she want from the tablet? Any particular requirements or just for internet browsing etc.? Both iOS and Android have a massive amount of apps, some apps are iOS only while others are Android only. As she has an Android phone then an Android tablet would certainly be an easier transition presumably, Android tablets also tend to be cheaper than the iPads as well. My advice would be Android, simply because your gf has an Android phone so would be used to the OS :) . Android doesn't require iTunes for content management which for many is a major plus.
