Whats the first thing you notice about people

Whats the first thing you notice about a person(mail or female) when you meet them for the first time?

For me it's their hands, i think you can tell a lot about a person by their hands, nail biters = nerves, dirt(oil, grease)= manual labour, filthy = un-hygenic, manicured = high maintenance, pretty hands = i like you.

By the way i think there is a huge difference between dirty and filthy hands, dirty hands are dirty from work and washes but not all residue gets off, filthy hands are hands that pick up dirt but never/rearly get washed.

To me hands are a big part of first impressions, have been known to dislike people cos they have weird hands, fingers, nails ...

it's a bit of a feedback thing: I notice if a person is noticing - i.e. eye contact, good/weak handshake. nothing to do with shyness, just attentiveness.

Body odour (good or bad) and how they dress. Handbag and shoes if it's a woman.

Probably their accent, I love accents! And it's noticeable too when a person doesn't have any accent (or has a very neutral accent) ... It's unusual!!

their attitude to me. If it's open and friendly, all good. If it's defensive or aggressive, ok... If it's a woman, wether she's hot or not. Then, her attitude..

The voice is usually the first thing that really grabs my attention. It tells me volumes about the person and his or her class and attitude. A person would have to look really outrageous for appearance to be more important.

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

Their general demeanour and whether they look happy and friendly or grumpy

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,350 ✭✭✭doolox

    How they speak.

Also how they carry themselves, deportment.

Then the clothes although I don't think fancy expensive is important but neat is the way to go.

How they treat the lowest ranking people in a group working situation.

If they treat them badly because they have the power to do so usually tells me all I need to know about their capacity to be assholes.

In my life I try to avoid assholes.

How clean they are. Clean clothes, hair, face. The scruffy-image clean is ok, but general dirty or scruffy -I'm thinking jaysus go and have a wash and this just isn't gonna work.

I keep my hands to myself usually. :)

Normally for me with women, I would go with a beautiful face, a nice rack and a tight a$$..... works for me. :D

Their general shape and if they take care of themselves - if they're obviously sporty and somewhat athletic, or physically strong and hardened from good, honest physical labor, or a softened, well-fed office-worker.

That and how they carry themselves, especially their posture.

It all tells a story in itself.

depends on any given situation but facial features where visible, eyes, nose, expressions and how they react and interact within their environment. I notice how someone wear their hair a lot too.

(I remember a girl I was kind of into and she had amazing tresses, stunningly framed her face but she had a habit of swooshing it over her eyes in an attempt to appear mysterious and shexy and it only worked the opposite on me. Found her one night wearing it up on top of her head like a bun and I suddenly stopped finding her as attractive. That probably makes me shallow. )

    Teeth.

Stained or severely crooked teeth are horrible to look at, especially if they're accompanied by rancid breath. On the other hand, nice teeth are noticeable too, in a good way.
