Where to find the legal definition of Drug Classes

    Hello,

Can anyone tell me in what Act and where within said Act I might find the legal definition of drug classes ie. Class B drug etc.

I can't find it in a search of Misuse of Drugs Act 77, it was suggested elswhere online that the classes were dealt with in this Act.

I'm curious as to whether the fact that cannabis is now readily and legally prescribable as Sativex (pure tincture according to Wiki) here in Ireland has any repurcussions for the classification of that drug.

Can a drug be sold in its pure state as a medicine but remain illegal as a Class B drug at the same time??

    Thanks

That's a UK system, there's no such classification in Ireland.

the Minister regulates by way of statutory instruments the various drugs...in fact when prosecuting a drugs case it is mandatory for the prosecution to hand in the regulations to the Judge as part of formal proofs.
