Printer spamming network after firmware update

    Anyone seen this before:

As part of preventative maintenance plan to upgrade firmware on all Xerox Phaser 3250 printers.

Upgraded firmware on first printer to latest version but get called away to another job after it completes, but before i can get started on the next printer.

30 mins later some users complain printing very slow, put off upgrading firmware on next printer to investigate......

60 mins later printing stops locally, other departments noticing printing slowing down, in the next 30 mins most printing in the building has stopped.

    Network appears fine
    Print server appears fine

2 hours later - randomly unplug printer with upgraded firmware, and hey-presto, one by one the other printers come back online.

I'm guessing a corrupted firmware, or would the printer be trying to upgrade the firmware on every other printer on the network?

Still waiting to see what Xerox say bout it.
