Back USB port not working?

Turned on my Xbox this afternoon to find my wireless adapter was not being recognised. Had been grand earler this morning.

Plugged it out and into one of the front USB ports and it's working grand. So presumably the problem is with the back USB port. Do they just stop working? It's a nuisance having the adapter hanging off the front of my Xbox now but should I consign myself to the fact it's living there now?

Could be a number of things, is the port on the back loose?

You could use a usb extender cable to connect it to the front port while the adapter is clipped on to the back of the console, most of the €2 shops do them in some form.
