    Hey,

So I am in the middle of changing my car over from N Ireland Reg to a Rep of Ireland Reg.
The Customs people said I needed proof that I lived in Belfast.
So I landed down with my bank statements, phone bill and Sky bill from my address in Belfast.
Now I got a call and they now want an itemized bank statement i.e. They want to see that I was spending my Money in Belfast / UK.

Now the thing is I am from Donegal, I had lived and worked in Belfast since 2010 but, I am usually home every weekend, and during holidays, my parents, my friends and my girlfriend are all from home...

Just looking through my statements and although all my DD for say Sky, phone my gym membership are all cool and the odd ATM take out, most of my ATM transactions happen when I am home at the weekend which is in Donegal....

In short, I see them trying to make me pay VRT on a car I have owned for over a year while living in another country...

Should I seek legal advise on this?

Also them asking to see my income and spending patterns a massive infringement of privacy!
