basically i have a 2006 audi a4 b7 and the trim around the windows is the black rubber. is it possible to get the chrome trim or is it mad expensive and hard to do. since the car is black i think it would look 100 times better with the chrome.

You can, but you shouldn't. It'll only look like yet another Aldi special. Don't ruin an otherwise perfectly good car.

IMO the chrome is far better than the black surround as featured on boggo VW's and Audis. If it can be done go for it OP.

I agree with ciars, it would look cat. Especially if you tried to do it DIY style. You often see people using black tape to cover the chrome surrounds on BMW's and the like.

If the OP is talking about the OEM parts and if done properly then it would look original.

The majority of later B7 models had the Chrome Window surrounds. It was part of the Limited Edition (LE) Specifition on the run out models, but before that, practically all vehicles brought in for dealer stock were fitted with Chrome (and something else that I can't remember - possibly the invoice).

Always used to be a factory order if someone was too cheap to go for the window surrounds.

Chrome is much better than black rubber, especially on a black car.

Although in my opinion, piano black trim would be better again. Think there was a shadowline option that you might be able to picl trims up from.

Funny how some manufacturers make you pay extra for chrome (VAG) and others make you pay extra to have it dechromed (BMW).

You pay extra on some VAG's too...
