Just looking for any ideas of what could be wrong here? Have a double Electrolux oven (approx 5 yrs old), last night was using the grill and the main oven and after a while noticed that the main oven was shutting off. After messing around for a while we could get it to work again but today neither oven, the grill and two of the hob rings are working. Is there a fuse that we can check - apologies for cluelessness!:o

You need to check for a down MCB at the main electric box.

It sounds like your original fault was a partial breakdown which couldn't be caused by the fuse (circuit breaker) blowing, that would have knocked out the whole appliance.

It's possible that the fault did eventually flip the circuit breaker which would indicate a serious problem in the appliance that's probably beyond the competence of an amateur. If the circuit breaker switch is down, push it back up and try the cooker again but if it (circuit breaker) goes again, leave it off and get a professional to look at it.

You probably have a burn out at the connector block where the mains cable attaches at the terminal block, if you are attempting diy repairs make sure you isolate the appliance first

Thanks a mill for the advice - I think we will get a professional in to look at it as neither of us has a clue and we can't keep cooking everything on the two rings that are left working!
