hi im thinking of installing one of these cylinders in my house. i will have two solid fuel stoves, a oil burner and solar panels. i think this cylinder will work well with multiple heat sources. has anyone out there have them fitted or any views on my other oponions. the tank can be bought for around 1200 and after that its just pumps that are needed. any views

You will need to have the stoves working under gravity so this may be difficult if you have 2 stoves? The normal way of achieving this I would say is to have an external Flat Plate Heat Exchanger which takes heat from the cylinder or have a valve direct from the oil boiler for top up so the DHW is pressurised and indirect. This may be cheaper than a complicated cylinder.
My own system is an unpressurised cylinder in the attic which takes the solar in the bottom coil, then stove into the cylinder direct by gravity, then the spare coil takes heat down to my regular cylinder which also has two coils so dumps heat from the top buffer tank, using a temp. differential switch, or is heated by the boiler in second coil as normal. The whole system is unpressurised. What you need is a neutralizer which is just a tank with lots of direct heat inputs. Have a look at Dunsley heat.

    Hi
You should go with a 500 litre multi fuel stratification tank with 2 coils, 1 for oil pressurised and 1 for solar pressurised.
There is a 3rd very large coil for your domestic hot water.
