Looking to get away on a sun holiday to somewhere exotic somewhere like Barbados or any Caribbean location.

Looking to fly out of Dublin where would be the cheapest place I could book a holiday of this sort?

Anyone got any feedback on Barbados etc?

I've been to San Juan (Puerto Rico) and St. Thomas. Both times I flew to Atlanta with Delta, stayed the night and connected the next day. Flights cost $150 or less. Really nice hotels are bookable on Priceline and Hotwire for up to half of their advertised price.

Preferred San Juan, St. Thomas is a 2 or 3 days destination IMO.

Went to Barbados back in 2007 and it is a gorgeous island. We booked through Tropical Sky (used to be called Tropical Places) and we got a 4* all inclusive at a resort called Crystal Cove. It was a fantastic resort, amazing private beach, friendly staff, lovely food and beautiful rooms. That resort is on the west coast in St.James, but is obviously more expensive as it's the quieter area with the sunsets.

You can get way cheaper places to stay on the south of the island in Oistins, but it is the more pub and nightclubby part. The people in Barbados are so relaxed and friendly, we had a great time!

My daughter is 21 early next year and we were talking about a week in NY - she would prefer a week in the caribbean instead. Will have to check out Tropical Sky etc. Any idea when the best deals can be found?

Dominican Republic is another great place to go, or there's always Mexico. St maarten is one of my favourite places ever, and we're headed to Cuba soon, can't wait for that!

We tend to book through travelmood.ie. have got some great deals from them!

Hi. My OH and I went to Barbados in 2012. Best holiday we ever had. We flew Cork-Gatwick-Barbados. It worked out cheaper through the travel agent. We went with Travel mood booked through Falcon. It is the most relaxing place on earth and has something for everyone. Great beaches, snorkeling, wildlife( monkeys turtles etc) duty free shopping, good food and variety of nightlife. We stayed just outside Bridgetown in Hastings. If you want more details let me know.

I've been to most island in the caribbean and the only place I would say to avoid is St. Lucia. Its also very easy to travel between islands if you want to hit a few islands.
