    Hi Guys
Ive an 06 Avensis D4D with an injector issue. Diagnostics seems to be saying that the injector is stuck open.

What are the options to fix this. Should i be looking at a new injector or service this one? There is a specialist injector firm in Dublin who will test an injector for circa 150 and put a nozzle on it to fix it for another 150.

If anyone could give me a guide on price and suggestions on mechanics who are good in this area that would be great.

    thanks

I would definitely shop around 150 to test seems high but modern injectors are expensive..have you priced a new one?

"Diagnostics seems to be saying that the injector is stuck open."

That does not sound like a very definite diagnosis poster, did you read this yourself, if so, with what. If you post the code and the full description you will possibly get some good advise before you start spending your money.

More info needed, history? does it run? what are the symptoms?

Mechanic read it; the text was "injector over fuelling throughout load and speed range".

Failed the NCT on emissions and is smokey but still driving ok apart from terrible mpg. It's a high mileage taxi, circa 160k miles.

The current mechanic doesnt have availability so im looking for alteratives.

thanks for all the replies so far
