This should give a good explanation: http://www.ncts.ie/pdf/nctvehicleinspectionreportexplanatorynotes.pdf , but I'm sure someone will be able to explain any others specific questions you have.

I do have an issue with one thing however. Under "Suspesnsion Test", the printout states that the nearside front suspension displacement is "39Mm". A capital M means "mega", as opposed to "milli". So what the sheet is actually saying is that your suspension moved 39,000 kilometers. It's not just a capital letter where there shouldnt be, It's actually means something else entirely.

id say very good results, emissions perfect, even 0.000 on high revs.... very efficient car. , suspension and brakes are good also.

What exactly do you want know ? and what car is that ?

Just don't understand the figures, what's good, what's not etc etc really.

One of those things. Tester said it was good I just don't really understand what I'm looking at.

It's a 2002 318 Ci. The one in my sig

everything grand. not to worry about.

But passed NCT doesnt stop you do oil changes and brake checks. if you not familiar with mechanics, better do car service and checks every 6 months. , also make sure your timing belt and waterpump been changed in time, as those BMW are very sensitive (actually every car) on overheating, as they they are from plastic, and if it not changed in time, pump may broke, and wreck the engine.

Majority of it is imbalances between left/right side of the car. Funny thing is you can have two bollixed shocks and pass, if they're equally fecked.

That's what I'm wondering. Literally I just see figures and a few vague references but haven't a clue what they mean. Can't spy any leaks from the shocks or knocks from them ergo I just assume they are fine.

Anything else to look at? I know its done and passed but just wondering for myself

Dont look for trouble, it will find you, no worries, as I said, do regular servicing, and enjoy motoring. your NCT is nearly spotless.

    Your shocks are fine.

It gives you a guide on the right hand side (in %) of what has to be to pass. If it is over for any of them the car fails.

Thinly veiled "my car is for sale" thread. If I'm honest ;)

Nice car BTW, a bit overpriced...

Appears a bit cheeky when its in my sig but I actually have never set down and looked at the report and thought about it.

I'm happy for it to be locked or deleted as I have my answer from the first reply

Considering a friend of mine bought a nicer version of that car with higher spec (Full leather and better wheels) for €1950 I would imagine so!

Also considering the OP above can't get 2.5 for his, it might warrant dreamer territory alright ;)

Didn't realise you had sold the Rover, John.

Sure did. I think I'm addicted to changing. I can't get comfy with any car this past two years which is a shame as that Rover was like a showroom model. Went to an enthuasiast from what I understood. I'm not driving near as much as before so I could go back to a petrol car again.

Do you still have the X-Type Gary?

Empty car park outside an abandoned hotel. I wasn't causing an obstruction.

That and it was parked for 5 minutes for me to take the pictures.

The two vans in the background are abandoned in case anyone thinks its being used.

    Abandoned hotels? Abandoned vans?

Do you live in a Famous Five kids story or something?
