    hi can anyone tell me if u need planning permission for a steel portal frame shed. its all only bolted together.

    it doesnt matter how its constructed.

    planning requirements are based on floor area, heights and usage mainly.

    so:
    1. what floor area are you thinking?
    2. how high to eaves and ridge?
    3. what will you use it for?

    remember that domestic, agricultrual and commercial are all treated differently within planning regulations.

    I've designed 5 storey office blocks that were "only bolted together". Do you think they required planning permission?? Why would connection details have an impact on planning..?
