hi can anyone help. i bought a second hand proform 400c treadmill last month and it worked fine but the other evening when my son was running on it it just died and wont turn on again. ive had the socket and electric lead checked, the circuit board lights up and theres a slight buzzing sound so i think its getting power but the display wont light up. i found a little fuse and thats ok too. any ideas where i go from here anyone please? my son was messing with the incline putting it up and down, could this have blown something?

Depending on the board, you will often find that transistors go in them which can put the whole thing off.
Can you post a pic of the main board (the one near the motor under the housing at the front).. a lot of them are pretty similar so I should be able to give you a pointer.

Once you get an idea, the best thing to do is to bring the board to your local "old school" TV repair shop... they will have the expertise to look at it and check voltage in/out of individual components...

Have a look at the attached image... take a picture of the board from the top so that you know where the wires are attached.

Then remove the board, and bring it to your local TV repair shop and ask them to check the transistors that I've circled in red.

I would guess that is where the issue is given that you have power to the treadmill etc..

If that doesn't work, they can check the capacitors on the board but I would be reasonably confident that its the transistors.

FYI, this is the type of part you're looking for... (if it is the transistor!).
