I for one do not want two directors who are so opposed to a business that they now want to run. Yhese guys at every opposed the demerger at every oppertunity, they were told by the vote at sgm how out of touch they were and still put their names forward. How could we afford to have this type of person representing us. In all a great day for the council

I'm not a Glanbia supplier and I dont really want to get involved in this debate as I dont know the full story. But it is worring that they are telling you they are spending €150m on a new 15t/h milk plant when clearly it shouldn't cost anything like that! Just open this link and see for yourself. http://www.hoards.com/IB_GEA Oh and yes sure if you ask them they will tell you it cost more. And yes if you inclued the cost of buying a 680 h site and building the plant on a earth quake epicenter. Then yes in did cost more. But the fact remains. GEA signed a contract with Fonterra for €40m. Question is what are Glanbia planning to do with the remaining €110m? Think maybe the boys are spending too much time hanging around ICOS with their Dairygold buddies? Looks like their playing a game of who can spend the most on a 15t/h powder plant!

This is it in a nutshell

You can't be completly opposed to a company and then expect to run the damn thing

In fact i would have been annoyed if they had been put back in

where exactly is there room in glanbia for disenting voices lads...

hayes and prendergast were democratically elected by their areas and now we`re to be told a higher power deems them to much of a nuisance to respect the shareholders wishes ..

the rebels are the only board members to have survived votes back onto the board since the initial demerger in 2010...so obviously some of us are happy with their contributions.

i mean jesus herlihy christ why is this non sensical "score settling" top of the agenda with some of the top brass instead of getting on with the job ....

    Whoops? Just one guys opinion

    http://wexboy.wordpress.com/2013/02/19/2013-the-great-irish-share-valuation-project-part-v/

But his attitude reflects most of what appears in business pages about us and our shareholding.

Actually re-reading that blog should we have unloaded the whole lot while we had a chance at €7.50-€8.00?

What's the saying''high prices cures high prices'' or something like that, ask some builders/developers.....they'd know what that means

In Jan 2012 he predicted a target price of 4.40 for Glanbia - it's over 8.40 today. He predicted a lower target price than the price as at Jan 12 (I assume when he set the target) - so he expected it to go down - he was remarkably wrong

For Aer Lingus he had a target price of 2.10 in Jan 12, today they are 1.31 - but at least he got the trend right in this 1

For Kerry Group he had a target price of 23.34 and was predicting a fall of 15%, today Kerry is at 43.73 - I can't even calculate how wrong that is

For Independent News he had a target price of 0.25, a 13% rise, today they are trading at 0.04. Again spectacularly wrong

Those are just 4 companies i picked from the top of my head - given how wrong these are I can't be bothered to look any more.

I am not sure when his "target" price is supposed to come to fruition but all i know is a broken clock is right twice a day.

F**K knows but a bunch of punters on another thread here are discussing Glanbia share price and this was linked to. As I said just one guys opinion. You can agree, disagree, print it off and wipe your hole with the printout and return it to Wexboy for all I care I just threw it up for the hell of it.

A childish action by the powers that be to get rid of two good board men who are totally committed to glanbia coop and it's shareholders . Never has this happened in glanbia in all the years that a regional committee puts forward the man they think that will do the job it expects him to do. This is going to be serious and have serious consequences going forward, just when all the goings on last autumn was put behind everyone they go and start it all again. Not the end!!!!!!!,

I was speaking to a local advisory chairman in the local on Paddys day and they aren't one bit happy about it. The initial plan will be to re-elect him even though it's a bit of a futile gesture and see from there. According to the rules if we don't knuckle under we'll be without board representation which is exactly how a democratic organisation like a co-op should work:rolleyes:

i heard a vote of no confidence was passed in the co-op chairman at the e waterford regional meeting... his pathetic attempt at purging fellow board members might become a tad uncomfortable for him if other regionals had similar votes....

I see John Maloney has brought forward his retirement by a year and will be finishing up at the end of this year

Wonder how that will affect strategy and share prices in the medium to long term?

Hit the shares by 15 cent yesterday but his departure would be priced in at this stage. It was well publicised that he was going next year so he's off to spend the options now. Expect to see him appointed to numerous boards both state and private over the next few months.
