Membership advice

Hi there, looking for some advice in the decision making process of club membership this year.
I am currently a 5 day member in Castleknock and get to play there once a week during the summer and I also make use of the practice facililities.
I am thinking that I would like to play at the weekends in the in-club competitions this year and so I am thinking of checking out Westmanstown GC as it is located near to home as well. Both are ideal for heading over in the evening for playing 9 holes or a bit of practice.

Can someone give me insight into Westmanstown regarding friendliness of the place, condition of the course etc ?

Also if you had the choice would you stay a 5-day member in Castleknock or move to Westmanstown ?

Never played the course so can't comment on condition and friendliness of the place however from my own research on courses in the area I believer there is a €3k joining fee which may dissuade you as it did me. Full membership is €942 which could be manageable if the course, condition & facilities were acceptable but not when you also include the entry fee.

Played it once and i have to say it is only average, Castleknock would be much better. Hollystown would be on a par and a bit cheaper.

I enquired about membership in Westmanstown at the start of the year and got an email back from them on 28 January telling me that that the Male Membership Category was full for 2013. Couldn't believe it!!
