    Hey guys,

Just a quick question. I saw a hard drive on Groupon and I'm just wondering if it's good value for money. I've been looking for one anyway and I'm not sure if I should take this offer online or buy one in a Soundstore near me. Is theree much of a difference in quality in portable hard drives in general.

I'd be thinking of buying the 1TB option.

    Thanks :)

    That's great Sofiztikated.

Are they reliable when dealing with them? Might go to Soundstore and check them tomorrow but pretty sure the last time I checked they were a bit more expensive than this.

Would that model be good in general?

Well, its a marketplace, individual sellers use it, like Amazon.

I haven't had an issue with delivery with pixmania, but I haven't been having much luck with hard drives. Got one through pixmania this week, and its dead on arrival. It was a reliable model, with few reported issues, but it happens.

This particular drive, I can't comment on.

Groupon price doesn't look like anything special .
Amazon UK have USB 3 drives for similar if not better prices.

I got a Samsung 1tb usb 3.0 (powered by usb) for a little over 70 quid on Amazon and used parcel motel to avail of the free shipping
HDD has got decent reviews so went with this over others

Why the need for parcel motel? If the price is over 25 quid on Amazon UK standard shipping is free (unless you're buying from a 3rd party seller on Amazon),

Yep, it was through a 3rd party seller. Saved about 4 quid going with Parcel Motel, every little helps ;)

Sounds good to me... Been looking at them on Amazon since people have been suggesting it. They seem much better value in fairness. I think I might go for a Samsung one alright.

I've own a lot of portable hard drives and there the biggest pain in the hole and failed after a month or two of using them.

I now use this excellent device

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/DIGIFLEX-Drive-Caddy-Enclosure-Laptop/dp/B002UZO07C/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1363383540&sr=8-2

and just buy normal sata external hard drives and use them as external hard drives.
