I have a large 10 foot fence. I have copper beech hedging down about 3 years. It is only about i foor and 3/4 inches. I had great shading from trees in a field behind the hedge. Horses have destroyed the shading I had.
I have black plastric sacks cable tied on to wire fence for privacy now. Looks
    Ridiculous.

I have the plants , copperbeech about a foot apart all along the fence , I wonder could I get a couple of climbers that would go mad all over the fence to give me cover till the cooper beech grows to a resonable height.

I want the climbers to be controllable.

    any advice greatly appreciated.

    Thanks...
    Paddy

I have a photo to add. I cannot see any option to add a photo if any one knows how to do this , advice also appreciated! I only see add url of image how do you this!?

    What sort of evergreen climbers?
As in flowering, just foliage, highly scented?

This for reply. As I say it's just for rapid coverage till copper beech grows. Scent etc not an issue as it will be covered when beech grows to the10 foot.
I put down a cirrus straita yesterday a large healthy plant and started it off with horse manure in roots and as its evergreen it seems ideal.

I hope that the frost last night didn't kill it! Quick one ....is covering the
Plant roots with a heavy rug suitable to stop frost doing damage? Or any other frost defence tips ??

    This

If plant is considered 'tender' it needs protection.

Hedge is now just over 1ft, desired height 10ft. = enjoy looking at your cissus striata for a while!!!!.

Dont allow grass and weeds to grow under hedge.

You can get bamboo in a roll or there is green builders screen which would give good privacy
