    Hi,
been looking at getting a new second hand family car for a while now.
Looked at Mondeo (don't like interior, dashboard center very cheap plastic looking), Insignia (very nice, a bit pricey), Volvo S40 (very nice) and Passat (nice).
We have an old 2002 Saab 93, love it but time to replace it.
2008, 2009 Saab 93s seem to be very good value, a fair bit cheaper than I'd have expected.
What are the main reasons; because Saab no longer exist (not an issue I think), the resale value is low? Anything else?
    Cheers,
    Pa.

If you found the dashboard on the Mondeo very cheap and plastically then chances are you will not like the interior of the newer 9-3. Build quality and fit n finish were not their strong suit.

Saabs always had poor resale values and always bought be people who liked something different. Now that they are defunct resale values are tumbling even further just like those of Rover. 1.9 diesels are the best of the bunch these days but I still think the money on 08/09 ones is too high considering how they are dropping in value.

    Thanks for the reply.
    Something like this seems good.
    1.9 diesel, €8750. 2008 72,000 MILES, 54MPG (give or take), origin UK

Would the fact that the rug on floor is worn? Could that be a sign that it's been driven loads & possible clocked or is that me just being over paranoid?

The photo of the odometer in the advert shows that it has 46k miles on the clock yet the advert states it has 72k miles. Either it has been for sale a very long time or the photo is from a different car. It's a UK import so I'd be running a history check on it and verifying with the garages that serviced it. The photos of what looks like someone's yard in the background doesn't inspire me with confidence either. Might be genuine but I'd be extra cautious all the same.

Would you consider importing one yourself?

Much as I love 'em, I can't see any Saab getting 54mpg. My 1.9Tid got mid 40's.

i had to down grade my saab last year. Just couldnt justify it at the time as it was little used.

In the next year or two when the job settles down i'll be looking at picking up an Aero.

Saw a new 95 last week. 131D331 or something. Class looking. Didnt think you would get a new one these days
