Theory test certificate

Hi, i passed my theory test 2 years ago and currently have my first learner permit with me. Its about to expire next month, and i want to renew it. I can't find my theory test pass certificate at home, so i have couple questions -

• Do you need your theory test pass certificate for renewing your learner permit ? EDIT* - Read your current learner permit will do
• Do you get your theory test pass certificate back from the licensing authority after you applied for your first learner permit ? (can't really remember what i got back )

You don't get the cert back when you apply for your 1st license

You just go to the motor tax office and renew your provisional license, when you pass your theory test, the motor tax office takes your certificate and a few documents (eye site report ,photos etc) and a fee, in return they give you the license, you just need to bring it in to renew it,

Think of it as an exchange. You exchange the theory certificate for the learner permit. When you pass your test, you'll be given a new certificate of competency, which you then exchange for a licence.
