just thought i would kick this off. my opinions so far....champagne won well, beat the much fancied mtoy fair and square. simonsig-i wasnt overly impressed, but if he got his jumping together he could be something special. hurricane fly-super horse. quevega-i couldnt praise this gutsy little mare enough, a joy to watch.

    I'll throw it up here:

Studying form and backing favourites is a mugs game.

End of day one i have two winners and one place 20/1 (ohio gold) and still down (only a one bet stake though so not bad)

My girlfriend on the otherhand backed outsiders in every race, down 50 by the last race and she hands me a slip with €1.75 ew Ackertac 66/1 and asks me to go up with it, i said sure you already have a bet on an outsider, Radjhani Express €2.50 ew @ 25/1, why throw more dead money away, she insisted so i went up with the 3 euros 50 cent

Lesson learned, nobody has a clue but its fun when you end the day up twice your stake

Had Champagne Fever in the first in my lucky 15 and one more to go in the cross country. Stuck €2.50 ew on Ackertac @ 40/1 and it came second, does anyone know does pp pay the better price on each way bets as it came in at 66/1.

If you took 40/1 instore then thats the price you get.

If you placed the bet online and it had best price guaranteed it should do - tend to have it for every general race but not sure if Cheltenham/Grand National races are excluded. If you placed in the shop, no. You get it at the price you placed the bet at.

Yeh wasn't too sure how it works on an each way bet, knew it applied on the single. Put bet on in store today at lunchtime, i'll be happy with the 40/1

Not really, 1 in 3 ish of favourites win, 1 in 6 ish are to be considered value, sorting the wheat from the chafe and studying form are not the same thing ;)

Anyone can study form, only a few can sort the wheat from the chafe :)

HF might go for the french CH over 3mile,that would be a great the french mugs might doubt him and could pay a decent price on the pmu :D

Oh didn't know that, always thought from their T&Cs page that it was just online bets that were included. Good to know! I hate reading T&C's so always air on the side of caution
