Why do girls get cranky? Is it cuz of diet?

Not trying to annoy or offend anybody but just genuinely curious.

    What makes girls cranky?

My housemate has been very cranky recently almost to the point that I want to kick her out. Obviously, I can't kick her out! We cohabit in a very nice apartment in city centre. She is from down under and is thinking of going back to her country around winter but until then, I don't think she will move to a different place.

She's on a very strict diet and eating regime until May, which started in January, and she's been extremely moody and cranky since February.

She has a well-paid but stressful job. I know you're gonna all ask if she's in a relationship and the answer is, no, she is happy to be single and she doesn't want to meet anybody (she is straight!). I'm the more cheerful one of the two so I'll always ask her how her day has been and stuff and recently she hasn't been very interested in making a conversation. Obviously, I'm busy and tired myself so I won't keep trying to make a conversation if she doesn't want to so we haven't been talking much for about two weeks - just civil how are you's. I usually go into my room after 9 o'clock news and do my own stuff while she sits in the sitting room with her laptop until midnight.

My suspicion is the healthy eating and diet she's on - she's not allowed any carbohydrates so all she eats is veggies and chicken breast. She doesn't really cook much so she eats the same frozen chicken and veg every night. To be fair, she's lost a lot of weight and I've complimented on her shape many times which I think she was quite happy about.

I'm naturally skinny and never been on a diet so I don't really know how this makes people feel. We have other small issues (i.e. her not washing the dishes properly, never mopping the floor, her constant moaning about the house being cold, using my bathroom and never cleaning it while she has her own en-suite etc) but we've always maintained to be friendly to each other.

I'm thinking of just leaving her alone and not making much effort unless she wants to. In the meantime, do you think there's any correlation between dieting and crankiness?

If she goes around without a bra just shut up and know your place.

If she does wear a bra around the house I think you should plan her demise.

You asked what make girls cranky and that turned into "is that a correlation between diet and making people cranky"?

He asked a question from the forum, provided his own hypothesis. What's the problem there? If he didn't provide his own idea there would be a chorus of "Why do you think girls get cranky OP?"

Many girls get cranky for similar reasons that boys get cranky.

Hypothesizing an answer on what makes ALL girls crazy is not really ground we're interested in covering.
