Car Trouble

    VW polo 97 , last two weeks has started to cut out at lights etc. ie..not ticking over.
    Any ideas what problem is and how much it will cost ?

    Could be battery, could be fuel related, could be misfire.

    Bring it to a qualified mechanic is the best advice you can get.

    He can give you advise on cost depending on what the problem is.

    Clean the TB to start with. Are you handy around cars OP? If not let a mech look at it.
    It's a small job to clean the TB, 10 mins or so.

    No , not good with cars , think i will bring to mechanic , hopefully not cost much.

    +1 on this. Had same problem on 98 polo. Cleaned throttle body. Also changed air filter but I think it was cleaning the throttle body which done the trick.

    Had the same car as others have said get the throttle body cleaned and it'll be as good as new. I used to turn on the back window demister and usually stopped the cutting out till the tb was cleaned

    yeah have cleaned it a little ( not with cleaning fluid , only cloth).
    and got a little better , but holy **** when put on window heater the car does not cut out . How is this ?
    Fecking great .
