Picture the scene, you're driving along, it's wet and windy out and in the distance you see a cyclist or 2 struggling against the headwind. You're safe and warm, but you know what he's going through as you were doing it yesterday. Is there any safe way to give him a bit of encouragement at 60mph? Tootling the horn might come across as 'you're in the way' and shouting something at him out the passenger window probably won't be taken in the way it's meant.

So is there any good way to say 'hey, I know what you're going through, fair play to you' from the comfort of the "jaaaag"?

Pull in front of him, slow down to about 30kph, and tell him to draft off the back.

Flash your hazzards when you pass.

No, its's douchy, even if you don't mean it to be. Just pass the cyclists with care and consideration, and leave them be.

this is the best shout i reckon..

any time a car's stuck behind me and i wave him on i always hope to get a flash of the hazards

if it doesn't come i generally mumble abuse to myself
