Importing an S-max from the north

I'm considering importing a 2011 s-max (2 litre diesel zetec 140ps) from a main ford dealer in the north. Apart from doing the usual background checks and arranging an inspection etc is there anything else I need to look out for before proceeding - it will be my first time doing this so a little apprehensive! From what I've seen the most importand document I need to get from the dealer for the VRT inspection is the V5 form - correct?

In addition I'll need to sell my current car. Its a 09 1.4tsi comfortline passat in silver with 37,000km. Its very clean with a full service history. I'm the second owner. What can I realistically expect to get for it in a private sale?

    Thanks.

unless you've lots of cashflow, flog the passat first, as it may be hard to sell

Yep it can be a slippery slope and don't always get what's been asked price wise..
Op keep your invoice that is needed for test

Thanks for the input. Realistically I would probaly need to sell the passat first in order to proceed. I'm thinking its worth in the region of 10K?

Looks like importing an s-max from the north will be relatively straightforward after that?
