hi, in second year of a 4 year degree course, basically between one thing another I need a loan of about 5K give or take. Dont have any other loans, (just a phone bill) which the contract finishes on soon anyway. I work and earn around 830 a month which can vary but usually around that figure. I live at home so have no rental fees or travelling fees as i have a car. Just wondering what would be the best bank to apply to for this loan? and does anyone on here have a similar loan amount? and how did it work out for them? any help would be great....and im also aware that student loans can be sticky sometimes as reagrds they must be used for fees, but this isnt for fees, so if this failed would i be eligible for a personal loan with my earnings? would hope to borrow the 5k over 5 years, and then hopefully up the payments in 2 years time when I (touch wood) get a higher earning job.

Do you have a credit union account?

They provide possibly the best loans on the market for education. You may need a guarantor though.
