I went, thought the trick riders and BMX guy were very good.

Thought there was a bit of empty space. Hadn't been before so not sure was there more or less than previous years

Looked at few framesets ,Turas stood out over time but had hoped for more ! Disappointed that there wasn't a shimano/campy set up

It was my second year there and I thought it was much improved over last year.

I wasn't expecting much because Ireland is such a small market and no real stand out retailers or brands in Ireland.
However, still some really good brands:
    • Cube
    • Continental
    • Endura Clothing
    • Polaris Clothing
    • Santini Clothing
    • Kona
    • PowerBar
    • Schwalbe
    • Specialized
    • Cippolini
    • BMC
    • Thompson

There were so many, obviously not every big brand was there but I thought it was really good, if not a little surprised at how many brands came over.

A lot of English guys on the stands, so clearly sent over the brands.
All of the stands looked great, proper exhibitor setup like any decent international trade show I've been to.

There were some great retailers too. Loads of bikes and gear, talked to a guy selling electric bikes and a few stands with folding bikes too.
Guy down the back saying that he's selling quite a few folding bikes and got some cheap GP4000's at a stand beside him too.

Yeah not much in terms of components actually. There was the Di2 on that Shimano bike on the Madison stand which was good and a Time bike had a Campag Electric Super Record but only on display.
There was a Quarq chainset on one of the BMC bikes too.

Bit disappointed that the only two bikes I really got up was the Di2 setup on a turbo and that BMC/Quarq setup on rollers.

Really enjoyed it. It has improved on last year and hopefully this improvement will continue into next year

Hate to say it, but was very disappointed. Thought last year was better. Seemed very small. Some vendors (Planet X) were listed on website, but weren't at the show. €2.85 for a machine coffee was ridiculous.

Kona and Endura stands were great, good to see Keelan Philips and the other BMX riders.

Doubt I'll be returning if it's on again.

I spoke to one of the organisers and Planet x pulled out at last minute, which was something they were disappointed about.

planet x(UK) mentioned recently that they dont do trade shows because it means cheaper prices for customers in the end. probably most of their sales comes from online 'word of mouth'

Were there any Irish retailers eg LBS selling or promoting their stores and products or was it all the big named distributors/ wholesalers who would be dealing with online or wholesale purchases only ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,085 ✭✭✭shaka

I thought all those brands are represented at LBS level anyway (?) so it was mostly manufacturers promoting their products to encourage LBS purchase.

LBS that i can remember were:

    Cahills Cycles from Naas.
    Staggs Cycles from Lucan.
    Cycleways from Dublin.
