Ive been insured for 8 years and im going for a new quote from another company so i contacted my own insurance company for details and ive just found out that my long term girlfriend is down as my wife even thou theres different 2nd names. I have been insured for the same company and never really checked anything when my renewal came through every year as i just accepted what they insured me for. They Have made a mistake somewhere ove the years as ive never once told them she was my wife. Im wondering would this have made my insurance any cheaper if she was down as a wife rather than a named driver

Ive now done a quote online with a different company and its coming in at 230 difference. My quote from my company is 600euro. I noticed thou when doing the quote that it said spouse or other so im wondering will my previous no claims be invalid now because of this mistake and if i do change companies, will this flag up.

I also done a quote online for my home insurance for 50k more than what i have it insured for and its still coming in cheaper and thats without any discount for having 2 policies with same company. Im coming into the 2nd month of my new home insurance with 4 yrs no claim bonus but i will still change it over for the better price.

My new company will be 123.ie and also want to know are these a good eniugh company to get insurance with.

In general it doesn't make any difference for car insurance purposes if it's your wife or girlfriend. If you live at the same address, from my experience it makes no difference.

How can they tell if you live in same house tho. You see, i own my own house and stay with her most days of the week so im kind of living in both houses.

Does it matter? Probably not. Will 123 tell your old insurer you're not married? No. Do you spend more than three nights a week at your girlfriends? If yes, then you may need to change your risk address. Is going out with a lass for eight years and getting away with not marrying her admirable? Absolutely!!!

    So he gets 3 or 4 nights a week off ? Win-Win !! :)

    Hallelujah to that man !

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”
