I have a 3d printer and am having some problems

I have replaced the Arduino board (Mega 2560) and it is talking to my pc

However I have a RAMPS on the arduino and i seem to have a problem with it as I cannot connect through the correct com port to the printer

As you can probably tell I haven;t got an electronics background..:o

Are there any obvious things to check? or how do I check if the RAMPS is working correctly?
