    Other than drink?

I've been thinking about this recently, and it seems that most people, when they want to go out seem to think about getting smashed.

I am a self-proclaimed non-drinker, and when I go to pubs and clubs it is just for a bit of fun, and to chill with my friends, and I couldn't be happier that way. I find alcohol to be beyond overrated, its overpriced in A LOT of places, most of it tastes awful, I also don't see the appeal of the culture associated with it.

That and the fact we generally have depressing weather, do in my opinion make it hard for people to find anything else to do.

I think you'll find that this is not so much a problem that affects 'young' people in Ireland, but pretty much everyone - it's not like socially people's options expand as we grow older.

The problem is cultural, historical and common to both Ireland and the UK.

Maybe you should try socialising with different people so

I have some friends who drink, and others who don't, most of them do, but its not a problem at all.

I can tolerate seeing other people around me drunk, and we do have some nights out where we accommodate the non-drinkers, like the weekend recently we decided not to go to Propaganda.

This topic is also not a PI (not sure if I gave that impression).

I find it funny that your Boards name is Karaokeman and you don't drink. I mean who does bloody Karaoke sober

Sports, restaurants, museums, games, cooking, sightseeing, films, hiking, dancing.

There's loads to do if you actively seek it out. The problem's more a lack of imagination than a lack of options in my opinion.
