Transfer into final year (or 2nd year if needs must)

    Gotta doozy for you guys - any and all help is welcomed and appreciated. I'm a second year arts student at nuig. My grades have been consistently high since first year and my attendance was never an issue. HOWEVER!!! This year I fell ill, proper ill, which I have med certs and letters to cover form more than one doctor. I missed 6 weeks of class and have wasted more energy trying to catch up and chase extensions than it would've taken to complete the bloody year!

    What I want to do is actually repeat second year but not at Nuig, I also want to transfer to Nuim. Is this a possibility? Has anyone EVER done or looked into this as an option?

    Please help, my head hurts! :(

    yeah, i have sick certs and other supporting evidence. Do you know what the entry requirements are for NUI Maynooth? thanks for the post

    To be honest I was taking the p*ss.

    But I think you need to pass theyear in the Uni you are in to transfer to another. Couldn't imagine why it would be any different with a sick cert.

    If you have the LC points and the entry requirements for arts (I'd imagine they're probably the same for getting into NUIG), you should be able to transfer into 2nd year NUIM. If NUIG pass you this Summer you might be able to transfer to final year.

    I have a friend transferring from 1st year arts UCD to NUIG next year (second year), and she was told so long as she passes her Summer exams it's fine (although I don't think she finds out for sure until August).

    Dunno if things start to complicate when you're talking about final year though.
