Wondering if anyone here commutes along the N68 between Ennis and Kilrush.

Whats it like? Safe or not.

Working in Kilrush for few days this week and staying in ennis. Was thinking of bringing the bike and cycling one or two mornings / evenings.

Any feedback welcome. Heading down there tomorrow morning.

    Don't do it.

I used to commute from Ennis to Moneypoint every day.

That road is very high speed, and drivers are not used to cyclists.

The amount of vehicle collisions on that road are startling.

There is a lovely quiet route that runs via a series of laneways, almost parallel to it, just to the south of the N68. You will need patience and a map.

Some of my happiest times on a bike down that way.

If you have time, ride the peninsula south of Kilkee towards Carrigaholt.

Great cycling club based in Kilrush too.

    Fantastic.

    Enjoy
