Buying a new gas boiler

    Hi

I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice!

We've bought a new house a while ago and the boiler is just about dead. We'd it serviced a month ago and the chap said it was on its last legs. It's now only turning on for 10 minutes before shutting off, or else just not turning on at all!

So anyway, we need a new one. Does anyone know where you would be best off buying one of these things in North County Dublin? I'm in Santry. Also, roughly what price? I've heard up to 2k...

Oh, and a friend mentioned you can get a government grant toward one. Is this true and how does one go about it?

Any helpful advice is welcome! :)

    Kenny

It will depend on what size, what make, what warranty you wish to have. €2k would be generally supply & install price. You will need to add the cost of a power flush.

There is but not for boiler only replacement. You will also have to fully zone your heating system with time & temperature control. This will add a considerable cost to the job but will add considerable benefit to your system. So down to economics really. Boiler grant is €160. Heating Controls grant is €400. You will need to add cost of BER following works but you get a grant of €50 towards this.
